Lone Birch is looking for a woodworker with a large format 3D printer with a build area of at least 9"x 9" x 9". We have a few products that combine solid hardwood with 3D printed parts. Our most popular that you'll likely be making most of the time is our desk shelf:

This position is perfect for someone looking for part time, contract work and perfect for woodworking enthusiasts who want to spend more time in their shop and put their 3D printer to work.
How it works with our distributed model:
1. Customer makes a purchase
2. We assign you the order in our web app
3. You see the order in your dashboard
4. You make the desk shelf based on the order
5. You pack the desk shelf using the shipping supplies we send you.
6. You print the shipping label from the order in the web app.
7. You request UPS to pickup the order(s) from your shop/house, from the app.
Basically, everything happens in the app, making it super easy for you to fulfill orders and ship them out. It will feel like you're running your own store, but we're the ones doing all the marketing and product design.
Pay:
$90 - 44" desk shelf
$70 - 36" desk shelf
$50 - 28" desk shelf
$10 bonus per desk shelf when shipped within 5 business days.
Training:
We provide all the documentation, specifications, and instructions you need.
Wood:
The only thing we can't ship you is wood. You'll need to be close to a hardwoods supplier to access the Walnut and Oak. We will reimburse you for the wood based on board feet used in the lap desk. ***We do not pay for all the wood you purchase up front. We reimburse for the wood used in the lap desks when you ship them.
Test run:
If we think you're a good fit, you'll make (1) 44" desk shelf sample for us. We will reimburse you for the wood and shipping and will pay you the fee if the quality is good enough to use for customer orders.
Location:
This is a remote position, where you work from your home shop. We are looking for people all over the country, but for now are looking for 1 person to serve each region of the US - west coast, midwest, south, east coast.
