The Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology is seeking a highly motivated Staff Research Associate 2 to contribute to our research projects focused on pancreatic cancer formation and progression. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting molecular, biochemical, and cellular research aimed at unraveling the molecular, immunologic, and genetic mechanisms underlying pancreatic cancer.Your invaluable knowledge and insights gained from this research will be utilized to design and evaluate innovative strategies for cancer treatment. To excel in this position, you should have a strong background in cell biology and molecular biology, with experience working with human samples and conducting animal experiments. Key responsibilities for this role include preparing data management forms in accordance with protocols, conducting tissue culture work, and performing various laboratory techniques such as RNA, DNA, protein, and virus preparation. Additionally, you will be involved in FACS analysis, PCR, Immunohistochemistry, equipment maintenance, and the preparation of data and manuscripts for publication. We are seeking an individual who is detail-oriented, meticulous, and possesses excellent organizational skills. Target hourly rate: $27.09-$43.58

Qualifications

Required: • Working knowledge and experience in general immunology, cell biology and molecular biology techniques. • Knowledge of cell culture and sterile techniques • Prior experience in oncology biomedical research • Ability to use computer software for work processing, data tabulation and graphing • Knowledge and ability to order supplies and maintain laboratory equipment. • Ability and knowledge to operate basic laboratory equipment, i.e. centrifuge, tissue culture hood and related equipment, autoclaving, weighing, pipetting microliter volumes, etc. • Ability and working knowledge of mouse breeding, genotyping, imaging, survival surgery, and maintains. • Exceptional organizational and recordkeeping skills. • Ability to learn new methods and protocols and to adapt these to current laboratory situations. Preferred:Excellent communication skills to interact with other researchers, vendors, suppliers, and maintenance engineers.
