Reporting to the Associate Director, the Study Abroad Intake Advisor delivers academic and programmatic advising to students on an array of international academic programs primarily by managing virtual and in-person drop-in advising, as well as over email. Engages students to identify their academic needs and then provides academic planning frameworks to integrate study abroad with degree requirements. Supports students in navigating study abroad in relation to diverse and intersecting identities. Advising spans a range of topics including, but not limited to, program offerings; satisfying degree requirements and credit transfer; College and School academic policies and petition processes; application and registration; eligibility; finances; deadlines; and provide referrals to appropriate campus units and resources. Evaluate and process applications, and conduct relevant follow-up. Support with marketing and outreach efforts; editing and updating of the website; and other initiatives as needed. Facilitate appointment scheduling with specialized staff. Manage upkeep of the IEO front desk. Generally guide students working as peer advisors, when these students are available to the IEO. Actively and continuously, assess and contribute to current advising and administrative practices and resources. Consult with the Associate Director on non-conforming tasks, initiatives, and issues, including student cases, collaborations, and processes. Take on projects that align with the needs and goals of the IEO and, where possible, with their professional interests.Percentage of Time:
