The Facilities Maintenance Specialist’s primary function is to ensure all RW South facilities are kept in a clean, safe, & well-maintained condition.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.

Maintain Warehouse facility
Performs daily duties to organize and clean all areas of the warehouses (internal and external) including floor scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and organizing to maintain a neat appearance.
Maintaining facilities parking lots, keeping them free of debris, and dumping all outside trash.
Perform minor building repairs and assist with building projects.
Must be able to do minor repairs, like change light bulbs, replace ceiling tiles, minor painting, and able to assist with any facility project.
Help coordinate and oversee proper disposal of metal scrap and hazardous waste materials (solid and non-solid).
Maintain and monitor all Haz Mat areas.
Be able to dispose of Haz mat waste
Maintain and monitor all Haz mat fluid levels. This includes proper handling, storage, and documentation requirements.
Responsible for maintaining the steam pit area and always keeping it clean and safe.
Assists the Facility Maintenance Manager with coordinating building maintenance/projects for all RW South facilities (Santa Fe Springs, Ontario, Valencia, San Diego, and Las Vegas).
Assists the Facility Maintenance Manager with monthly walk-through & safety inspections on the following facilities (Santa Fe Springs – Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs – Geary, Santa Fe Springs – Annex, & Ontario).
Help perform quarterly walk-through & safety inspections on the following facilities (Valencia, San Diego, & Las Vegas).
Provide written reports of facility inspections to the Facilities Maintenance Manager for review and assist with all corrective actions as needed.
Work in conjunction with all department managers for special projects, as necessary.
Must be able to travel to all local branches.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent Organizational Time Management skills

Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments

Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required’

Able to use hand and power tools

Willing to attend seminars and classes to update/improve various skills.

Capable of making sound decisions.

Capable of communicating in writing.

Sound mechanical abilities.

Able to operate motor vehicles and forklifts.

Must be able to provide a current, valid, unrestricted driver license

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED, Preferred prior maintenance/handyman experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position is non-Sedentary
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Position will be required to go onto job sites to perform duties where construction is underway.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The position will require employees to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to smell.
Position requires the employee to climb/balance/stoop/kneel/crouch and crawl
The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $42.00

Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
