Our growing company and busy RCM department is seeking an Overpayment Analyst. As an Overpayment Analyst you will research and resolve overpayment discrepancies, credit balances, returned refund checks and handle patient concerns as needed.
This is a fully #REMOTE position.
- Work and resolve accounts reported as an overpayment. These include insurance overpayments (takebacks, offsets, refunds), patient overpayments (transfer credits and refunds) and posting errors.
- Initiate refunds of identified overpayments and resolve open discrepancies
- Monitor takebacks and initiate refunds as appropriate
- Review and resolve credit balances
- Accept phone calls and resolve patient concerns related to account balances
- Research returned refund checks and take the necessary action to resolve
- Identify problem accounts/processes/trends and escalate as appropriate
- Utilize effective documentation standards that support a strong historical record of actions taken on the account
- Perform basic math to ensure accurate statement of accounts receivable
- High school diploma/GED
- 1-2 years of related experience required
