You enjoy working in an environment that offers variety, from answering inbound calls - to managing portals - to crafting emails, you can multitask during and between calls. You are familiar with medical terminology and are comfortable taking inbound calls from members and providers. You're knowledgeable, adaptable, a troubleshooter.

Working from home sounds great to you and you can easily adapt to a few days in the office per month if needed. You are reliable, communicative, and work productively in a remote environment.

What we need from you
Technical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • TPA/Insurance Company environment or medical billing office experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts/systems.

Soft Skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills along with being an active listener.
  • Customer focused and adaptable to different personality types.
  • Must be a self-starter who is organized, sets priorities and manages time effectively.
  • Must have a professional and responsible work ethic.
  • Ability to interface with various levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

What you’ll be doing

Day to day

  • Handling a minimum of 70 calls per day to provide quality customer service to callers.
  • Developing and maintaining problem solving skills and troubleshooting abilities for the purpose of assisting callers and going the “Extra Mile” when necessary.
  • Referring any claims the requirement adjustments, processing, repricing, or other intervention according to guidelines.
  • Logging into the phone system and available during your assigned schedule.
  • Responding to portals and all e-mails timely.
  • Placing follow up calls to members and providers timely.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of plan benefits.
  • Suggesting process improvement ideas.
  • Presenting problems/trends to Management.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support PBA’s Mission, Vision and Core Values.
