In-Home Childcare Assistant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced In-Home Childcare Assistant to join our team and contribute to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. As a Childcare Assistant, you will work closely with the primary caregiver in delivering quality childcare services. Your passion for early childhood development and education will be essential in supporting the growth and development of the children under our care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the primary caregiver in supervising and engaging with children during playtime, meals, and learning activities.
- Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for children and parents, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure in our childcare setting.
- Implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of each child.
- Observe and record children's behavior, development, and progress, and communicate relevant information to the primary caregiver and parents.
- Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are met at all times.
- Support children with their daily routines, including diaper changing, feeding, and nap times.
- Foster positive and respectful interactions among children, encouraging good manners and conflict resolution skills.
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and snacks, considering any dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Collaborate with the primary caregiver in planning and executing special events and outings for the children.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's activities, milestones, and any relevant concerns.
- Uphold the childcare center's policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a professional and compliant environment.
- Continuously update knowledge in early childhood development by attending workshops, training sessions, and seeking further education.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a childcare setting, either in-home or within a daycare center.
- A strong passion for working with young children and a genuine commitment to their growth and well-being.
- Education in early childhood development, early childhood education, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with age-appropriate activities and curricula to engage and stimulate children's development.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment while keeping a keen eye on children's needs and safety.
- Strong organizational skills to assist in managing daily childcare routines and activities.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing demeanor to address the individual needs of each child.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing demands of a childcare environment.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are desirable.
Compensation:Pay for this position will be based on the candidate's level of education, relevant skills, and years of experience in the field of childcare.

Monday - Friday:
- 8:30 - 5:30pm
- Must be willing to authorize a criminal background check.
- Must be legal to work in the US.
- MMR vaccination required (given at 1 yr old) Old records will show vaccination or a simple blood test will show antibodies.
- Pertussis (Tetanus) vaccination required.
- TB test required.
- Flu shot or flu shot declination form required.
- CPR Certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
