The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for Kitchen Assistant – Part Time for Transitional Housing – Center of Hope, located in West Palm Beach, FL.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in the preparation and serving of meals; cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes; sweeps, & mops, floors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques.
Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of meals.
Ability to wash dishes and kitchen appliances.
Ability to clean kitchen and dining area.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in making special arrangements for special events and/or programs.
Performs other related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
None.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
None.
Certified Board Handlers test – certified by Manager

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works is performed in a normal kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers.
