Applies professional student services concepts. Provides varied student services to students, faculty, and department / school / college management. Works on moderately complex issues. Receives assistance on more complex issues. Provides high level support with the development and delivery of student immigration services. Responsible for the coordination and review of incoming immigration service requests. Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) under the F-1 and J-1 visa categories. Advises international students and campus departments of internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Provides pre and post arrival information to newly admitted international students. Maintains and updates Student and Exchange Visitor System (SEVIS) records to ensure reporting compliance

$24.71 - $41.86 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
1-3 years of experience
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and pertinent databases. Ability to multi-task; verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars. Ability in problem identification and reasoning. Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking. Writing, edition and publication experience indicating a strong attention to detail
Preferred:
Knowledge of University processes and procedures. Understanding of University rules and regulations. Skills to develop and implement training and information workshops.
