Administrative Support Coordinator II
College of Health and Human Services Dean’s Office


Salary Range: $3,681 - $6,034/Monthly


Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.


Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Dean, the Administrative Support Coordinator II provides highly advanced professional assistant work for the Dean of the Xu College of Health and Human Services as well as the Office of the Dean. The incumbent will be coordinating and overseeing high level administrative operations for the Dean's Office and works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude with the use of initiative and independent judgment; assists the Dean in the day-to-day operation and administration of the Dean's Office; facilitates the flow of work from the Dean's Office to the departments, Provost's Office, etc.; coordinates special events hosted by the Dean; obtains and coordinates the Dean's various research and special reports as requested; provides guidance for the academic personnel of the College; works closely with the Dean in faculty matters; and serves as the principal resource regarding regulation, policies and procedures pertaining to retention, tenure and promotions. The incumbent will: maintain the Dean’s calendar; maintain files; create and process purchase requisitions; make travel arrangements for the Dean; serve as timekeeper; and is responsible for new faculty contracts.


Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to four years of general office experience, which included providing ongoing work coordination and/or lead responsibilities with notable accountability for the work results of support staff or unit administrative function. Incumbent must have thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Must have the ability to: operate Microsoft Office; draft and compose correspondence and standard reports; operate standard office equipment; perform basic arithmetic calculations; plan, organize, and prioritize work; work under pressure and handle a heavy workload; handle multiple work unit priorities and projects and meet deadlines; respond to routine inquiries and explain standard policies and procedures; troubleshoot student issues and respond to all inquiries and requests; analyze operational problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions; and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures independently where specific guidelines may not exist. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.
